- emcee Gene Rayburn (1917-1999)
- Richard Dawson (1932-2012)
- Charles Nelson Reilly (1931-2007)
- Brett Somers (1924-2007)
Dawson, Reilly, and Somers were the show’s regular three panelists from 1973 to 1978. Dawson left the show in 1978 due to creative differences with the show’s staff. Reilly and Somers would remain with the show until the cancellation of the daily syndicated version of Match Game in 1982.
In 1983, NBC introduced the Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour featuring Rayburn and John “Bowzer” Bauman as co-hosts (Rayburn emceed the Match Game segments including the “Super Match” and “Head-to-Head Match”, and Bauman emceed the Hollywood Squares segment). Reilly eventually joined the show as a regular panelist for the Match Game and Hollywood Squares segments.
In 1990, ABC revived Match Game with the hopes of former Match Game ‘7x semi-regular Bert Convy hosting the show, but due to the illness which led to the death of Convy, ABC was forced to choose Ross Shafter as the new host. Reilly was a regular panelist for the show’s year-long duration, and Somers was a guest panelist for several weeks.
